"THE GIFT"
A quiet peaceful stream lost from a busy world, enhanced with fall
leaves and the movement of water give this image real life.
.JPG)
This stream represents purity, a piece of nature that has been
granted to us as a gift. A gift from God.
As the waters slowly flow over the moss covered rocks, those rippling sounds represent the voices within nature, that tell us in such a subtle way, to protect this gift so we someday can share it with our children. The fall leaves that litter the landscape are a sign of change, as the seasons come and go the environment regenerates life into its self. It is our promise to recognize the importance
of this gift and protect it from harm.
To enhance a gift from God, you must first appreciate its purpose
and then keep it in its natural state, a gift we can give to our children.
"A Gentle Friend"
.jpg)
To be a gentle friend to nature will bring you rewards.
All living things within our world have a purpose, and if you will allow it
to live within your heart and soul you will experience its treasures.
To set on a log under the shade of a tree, listening to a bird singing its forest song
and breathing the fresh cool air given to you by natures existence, it will show you the truth within yourself that only you can describe.
"Cherish Life"
.jpg)
How does one cherish life even beyond one's self ?
I believe we must look at all of our treasures given to us by God, not only
physical things but also patience and trust, the ability to think and understand
the willingness to except the unexplained. How did this all happen and why?
I am not the one to question what God has painted,
I only need to know that this is what God intended.
"Time and Change"
.jpg)
There is something about lying on your back on a lush green forest floor,
watching the pillowy white clouds floating across the sky.
As the shapes change and form a new image reminds me that our lives will also
change with time, and what you have now should be appreciated.
"Seasons"
Each season has its joys to lift one's spirits.
There is something special about the change as though we have left behind
beautiful memories and now moving toward new adventures.
The four seasons have a unique effect on us,
something we can only describe when experienced.
"Special Place"
Why has God given us this beautiful place, a piece of nature?
I believe it has been offered as a way to refresh our lives,
a way to erase our troubles even if only for a few moments.
It is now up to us to take this piece of nature and use it as it was intended,
to give you piece and contentment.
"Pathless Woods"
To wander through pathless woods can be a joyous adventure.
Finding yourself amongst nature's tallest statues surrounded
by beams of light sent from the heavens.
As these beams open the forest floors you should take the time to explore
what has been placed there for you.
Exploring these treasures will allow you to learn to appreciate the innocence of nature,
with patience and trust in God's creation the pathless woods will guide you to your purpose.
"Flowers"
To view the detail of the flower close-up, will enhance your appreciation for it's being,
but to pick it, to hold it, to smell it and keep it as yours is for you to decide.
The presence of the flower in your hands brings you closer to nature,
as if a gift given to you to bring you joy.
"To Pass It By"
When seeing something as beautiful as nature you mustn't pass it by,
only God could have painted it that way, the way it was intended.
You must cherish all of the beauty with-in nature as if it to be a way of life
and what better way to find contentment.
By taking a moment to experience the wonders of nature you will be shown
that nature has its own healing powers for the mind and the soul.
"Fragments From The Past"
.jpg)
I've asked myself where have those special moments gone that brought joy and
happiness into one's life so many years ago?
Have they been lost forever?
I believe those memories of the past lie idol,
slowly dissolving in time, awaiting a request from memories, some
fragment from the past, to open the mind, that special moment.
An image or a part of an image may spark that special time.
My hope is that I may have contributed with my images a memorie once forgotten.
"Nature Within"
.jpg)
On many occasions I've asked myself what I feel inside while experiencing nature.
How do I feel about the colors carpeting a mountain side, or the fragrance from a wild flower.
How do I feel about the sounds that only nature makes filtering through the forest?
I guess my best description is, I am a part of nature.
I feel nature throughout my soul, nature is within.
"Image Of Christ"
.jpg)
I often wondered what the true image of Christ would be.
I would guess the best explanation lies before us every day.
My answer would be the presence of all things, all things with-in nature.
From the fragile moth to a massive stone.
His image is apparent.
"Sharing"
.jpg)
There are so many opportunities to explore nature but
I've found that sharing it with a friend makes it very special.
Friends are made for caring and sharing so why not experiance it with someone special.
Whether it's your spouse, acquaintance or a pet.
The real joy of life is friendship and what you do with it.
This beautiful sunrise I shared with my wife sitting on a log on a calm beach
waiting for the sun to rise.
Sharing that moment together drew us even closer.
Experiencing nature as it started our day.

"A Gracious Scene"
.jpg)
Cascading waters, a pure and gracious scene, those words came to me as I stood
next to this beautiful waterfall early in spring.
The force was spectacular yet graceful as the water flowed over the glistening rocks.
The white foam jumped from stone to stone as if dancing for my camera, flirting with the world.
The sounds of the water brushing against the rocks melt into the forest
whispering a song only this cascade could sing.
"Century Of Sunsets"
.jpg)
This weathered giant stands on the east shore of Priest Lake.
Its trunk has been callused and sculptured by the gentle touch of wind
and water, an evidence of time.
Over 100 years have passed and this tree has experienced the best that
nature can offer, sunsets we can only dream of.
No part of nature can take away the beauty this tree has seen.
I wonder how many more this mighty mass will see.
But in my mind, this tree will stand forever.
"Raging Waters"
.JPG)
The snow is melting way up high, water rages down rock ledges, which never dry.
In the spring the water is always white, and the flora surrounding it appears so bright.
The white water flows like a torrent river, the mist, spraying off, may cause one to shiver.
The water continues on with its wrath, regardless of debris Mother Nature has put in its path.
The banks are no match for this powerful force; the torrent does not show any kind of remorse.
When summer comes and the weather becomes tamer, the water from the falls will do the same.
When I've needed a place to focus and unwind, this beautiful falls has always come to mind.
So if you desire someplace relaxing and nice, Granite Falls will suffice.

"The Legend Of Chimney Rock"
.jpg)
The white man calls it Chimney Rock, but the Kootenai know it's the coyote.
A long time ago an enemy came from the land of the setting sun to take over the valley.
But the Kootenai warriors rose to defend their homeland.
Many battles were fought as the enemy was great in numbers.
After much fighting, the enemy was driven out.
As they fled back to the land where the sun was setting,
they promised to never come back and fight no more forever.
But the coyote did not trust them. He thought it was a trick,
and decided he should watch the west for the day they would return.
As he sat on the high ground, he thought he should disguise himself.
He thought and thought and it came to him to turn himself into a rock.
And there, on the high divide where the sun begins,
he sits yet today, ever watchful to the west.
